Laura’s Story
Laura Brashear has lived her entire life on the Front Range of Colorado. She and her family currently reside on a farm with an eclectic assortment of animals. Her lifelong passion for storytelling and a deep interest in the human psyche led her to obtain an MFA in Creative Writing. She also teaches at a local college, where she’s able to share her love of writing. Her adventuresome spirit has led her to travel to many interesting destinations, where she can enjoy the location and also observe human behavior. Her fascination with what drives people’s actions serves as the foundation for her psychological suspense and crime fiction, where she creates stories that examine the complexities of human nature. When not writing, Laura can be found tending to her garden, chipping away at her massive “To Be Read” list, and cherishing moments with her family and beloved animal companions.
Fun Facts About Laura
Being a child of the 80’s, Laura was exposed to many horror stories at what some would consider too young of an age. The positive outcome is that those movies and books helped shape her unique sense of humor.
Laura lived with her daughters while they studied abroad in Scotland. The experience was scary, exciting, and a touch haunted. Even though her time there was not picture perfect, she definitely made it an adventure.
One of Laura’s favorite subjects to teach is World Mythology. She loves sharing the sacred stories with her students and witnessing their curiosity. When traveling she tries to explore spaces that capture these stories and nerd out.
